Dabke and Tatreez

Dabke and Tatreez is a performance project, to protect the music, culture, heritage and traditions of the People of Palestine. The Ensemble made its Sydney Opera House debut on 6th July 2025, making history. It was the first time that Palestinian music was presented in the world famous landmark's 50 year history. This year, they also made their debut at Woodford Folk Festival, Brisbane, as well as the National Folk Festival in Canberra.

The Ensemble, made up predominantly of artists/alumni from Edward Said Conservatorium of Music, in Gaza, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Royal College of Music, London, as well as Three Rivers Ensemble, with Palestinian, Lebanese/Indonesian, Syrian/Palestinian/Turkish, and Turkish/Cypriot heritage.

Dabke and Tatreez does not receive any grants or funding. They rely on public support and endorsement to pursue their creative and cultural purpose.
